About the festival

After the success of 2007 we now go on with the show in 2008 too. Last year it was proved that the Youth camp of Zanka is a very good place for such an event where you can bathe, talk, go for an excursion during the day and there are fantastic concerts and parties from the evening through the night.

This year it will be the same feeling, however the opportunities for entertainment will be much wider than last year: between 23rd and 27th July there we will think of those who are in fond of the active relaxing and like the sports and extreme sports. Here will take place the FUNDANGO Water Jump International Contest, there will be a skating-rink and beach football and finally the very popular KONA bicycle meeting.

When doing the program of the festival we kept in mind to meet these visitors musical taste, as a result there will be on stage such performances as Beatsteaks, Zion Train, Killa Kella, Dj Vadim; Noisia, dj Teebee, Real McKenzies, Cagedbaby and the Free Form Five. Of course, the most significant Hungarian Festival bands will also play here, but there is no need to list them as you know the most important ones who will make great concerts on the four stages.

It is also important that the touristical area is rich in sights, cultural heritage and gastronomy not to mention the fact that the festival will be cheap this year too and there are comfortable accommodation possibilities as well on the territory of the festival.

Travelling to the Festival

If you come by public transport, you will save money and time, protect the environment and avoid traffic jam in Zanka. Be prepared for queuing at the station and the gate of the event. Arrive as early as possible to find the best place for the tent and then you can party without any problems. Please behave politely with inhabitants of Zanka and do not be the reproach of the festival visitors.

You can get to the venue by:
bus (www.volan.hu)
train (www.elvira.hu)
car (www.terkepcentrum.hu)
buckshee taxi (www.potyataxi.hu)
ferry (www.balatonihajozas.hu)

The worst choice is to arrive by car, it is worth planning your journey in advance because you can save plenty of time with a good itinerary. The entrance of the festival (if you come by train) is from the station beside the “kresz” park and if you come by car you can park in front of the main entrance of the Youth Centre for a parking fee. Caravans and motorbikes are not allowed into the venue, you can leave them in the parking place too. If you come by bicycle you can leave it in a separate gurded place for a very cheap fee. You are not allowed to bring animals in.

Campsites and good advices

The campsite opens on 23rd July at 3pm and the Festival opens at 6pm.

There is a very well site for camping on the venue of the festival .The tickets’ price contain the possibility to enter the campsites fro free. You can check on the festival map where it can be found. There is a station and a bust station on the venue so you don’t have to carry your bags and packs too far.

When you arrive at the entrance of the festival, you will immediately be informed about the campsites and where you can find some free spaces. It is worth taking these advices. With your 4-day wrist band you will get a sack in which you can collect the litter around your tent. We would like to ask you to collect all the litter after the festival, because it makes our work easier regarding cleaning the venue.

We would like to ask you to use the toilets when needed and do not piss or s..t into the bushes or the river because it is very impolite and smelly too. The showers are cleaned more times a day. If you have any comments on clarity, please talk to the organizers.

There is one information point where you can get all the necessary info you need about traffic, maps, the place or the program. There are several public phones on the venue. You can recharge your phone at the information points and it is free.

Some advices what to bring to the festival:

  • bring such stuff that you will not be sad in case it is stolen
  • bring as little stuff as possible as you have to carry it on a long way
  • bring waterproof clothes, a good pair of shoes, suncream
  • you can eat for an acceptable price on the venue, so there’s no point in bringing a lot of food
  • bring only the most important bank cards or credit cards
  • there are bank automats on the spot so it is not worth having a lot of cash with you
  • bring only the most important keys with you
  • do not bring any equipment that makes music, there will be lots of concerts

Do not forget the following things at home:

  • tent (bring only a small hammer)
  • sleeping bag, pillow
  • glasses, contact lenses with liquid
  • ear plug
  • towel, soap
  • cleaning stuff
  • sun cream
  • anti baby tablets, condom
  • torch
  • camera
  • mobile phone

  • sacks
Do not worry if you left home any important, there are good shops on the site where you can get anything you need.

How to get in?

Give the tickets to your friends as it is very difficult to meet at the entrance because of the crowd. Take care of your ticket, if you lose it or it is stolen, we won’t be able to replace it.

The entering procedure is similar to other festivals’ system: please do what the guard says to be able to get in as quickly as possible: wristband check, package check etc. They do their job, please be understanding.

  • as you enter the festival site take care of yourself and others too
  • frequently wash your hand
  • take carte of the holes on the site in order not to sprain your ankle
  • do not climb up the tree
  • the traffic is very intensive on the site, please let enough space for the vehicles
  • the festival is for your mood and fun. please do not use drugs, you will not need it and against the law
  • the level of sound might cause ear damage, sometimes have breaks between the concerts
  • we do not tolerate the anti social and lawless behaviour, this might cause that you will be thrown out of the festival, so take care of yourself, friends and the environment, too

If you are afraid that something of your stuff might be stolen, then use the left luggage that works 24 hours and free of charge. If you are robbed or some crime happens please immediately go to the police. There is a police station on the festival site.

The festival organizers focus on safety because a lot of people are on the site on a concentrated area of 6 hectares. Unfortunatelly, crime is there if so many people have fun together on the site. In order to prevent crime there are more than 130 guards who do their best to protect you and your valuables on the hope that we will meet next year too.

You have to wear a wrist band once you entered the festival site. There is no point in taking it off and sell it as it becomes useless. The guards have the right to check the bands within the fence any time they want.

There is a professional first aid service on the site. It is very rare that someone is needed to be taken to the hospital. If you need a medical treatment you can go to the medical base and they will help you to solve the problems. The first aid staff wears a white T-shirt with a HELP sign on it. They walk all around the festival site, you can ask help from them too. Please do not call 104 (ambulance) if there is any health problem, just use the first aid or medical services. The experts will decide whether to call an ambulance or not.

You must not bring in the site the next things:

  • food or drink in a bigger amount
  • any stuff that is against the law
  • animals
The festival visitors accept that the organizers take pictures and films of them. We use safety camera system too to prevent crime and we keep the records.
